Another Good or Bad.

Influence as in.. the influence a country has over its territory? Hostile "influence"?
Or friendlier, "more like advice" influence?
Ultimately, is there more good or bad influence in my life?

I can say a lot of people have had influence on me.. that influence pretty much makes me who I am today. In Invisible Monsters, Chuck Palahniuk brings up, "Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everybody I've ever known." It's easy for me to admit that. I take it as fact. But I can see how for others, it may be a blow to the ego..

The more and more I think about it, the more I want to chart those who have changed my life. I want to try and think back and try and pinpoint certain people that have impacted my 21 years. Funny enough, theres a book that someone has written about people who have influenced her/s life, how, why, when, where, etc.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were a part of my childhood. I used to watch Full House all the time and for some reason (maybe because I treated every episode as a guessing game to figure who played Michelle), I was always drawn to the show. They have built a media empire that revolves around films, consumer products and clothing lines. Their accomplishments are endless and I know that there is no shortage of where the talent comes from.

I am really stingy when it comes to buying books. The book HAS to be worth it, otherwise, it would be a bad investment. I have to read it, from cover to cover or else its worth is obsolete. When it comes to purchasing a book, I find reviews and browse around for the best price. This was the case for Influence by Mary-Kate and Ashley. Long story short, I finally found my Ashley cover and I've read six or seven pages and I have to say, the book is inspiring. Its not so much their writing (it consists of mostly interviews of people who have influenced them) but the people, the subject matter that intrigues me the most.I really cant wait until this midterm is over. So that I can read. Its killing meee. Late nights, early mornings, no running.. bah! More on the book later..
